As Delaware River Solar is working hard on building community solar farms throughout NYS, progression on the tenth solar farm in Sullivan County NY is underway.
Delaware River Solar is building a 20-acre solar power farm that is currently under construction on Rosemond Road to bring solar energy and discounts to Fallsburg NYSEG customers.
According to Rich Winter, head of the project, most of the construction is expected to be completed by the end of October and will be “interconnected to the grid in 2020.”
The farm is expected to supply energy to approximately 400 homes while providing a ten percent credit on their electric bill.
The solar energy works by sending all the energy produced by the farm to the NYSEG grid. NYSEG will then credit Delaware River Solar for the value of that energy. Any resident who has subscribed to the solar farm will be given the credit “to offset their utility bill, and they are charged only 90 percent of the value of the credit/ hence saving 10 percent.
