DRS Announces 2020 Community Solar Projects

July 23, 2020

We’re thrilled to announce the construction start on our first two projects for 2020. These projects were slated to start construction earlier in the year, but given the phased reopening of construction in NY State, there was some delay. The first project is in Fallsburg, NY, and the second is in Bethel, NY.

These projects will serve over 1,000 NYSEG customers providing them with significant savings in terms of greenhouse gas emissions removed from the atmosphere as well as a 10% discount on the electricity produced. Delaware River Solar’s community solar projects are part of New York State Renewable Energy Vision to provide 50% of the state’s power from renewable energy by 2030. We’re proud to partner with NY State to make this a reality.

Enrollment for these projects is open. Community Solar is a great way for all NYSEG customers to participate in solar, even if you don’t have space or the right conditions on your own property. Community Solar is produced at the DRS solar farms and directly offloaded to NYSEG’s electric grid. Power is still delivered by NYSEG but with the adding benefit of knowing you are doing something good for the planet, the community, and your wallet.

To sign up, visit www.delawareriversolar.com, call 845-414-3491, or email sales@delawareriversolar.com and ask for a signup form. All new customers receive a $100 VISA gift card for signing up. Any existing customers who refer friends and neighbors will also receive $100 for each qualified referral.

DRS appreciates the opportunity to do business in Sullivan County and New York State and thanks all of our customers and everyone who has worked so hard to make Community Solar such a success!
